Let it snow, let it snow... Let it snow!

Even though I am not a big fan of low temperatures, if it is to have a cold winter, let it be at least a proper winter, i.e., with SNOW!

I just LOVE snowy days!
The streets all white, those cute flocs falling down, making snow angels, running from snowball fights...! Can't wait for the little one to start enjoying it too! :-)

Plus, doesn't get much better than an all white view on the outside and a nice warm cup of tea on the inside! ;-)

Muito embora eu nao seja grande fan de baixas temperaturas, se vamos ter um inverno friorento de verdade, que pelo menos seja um inverno com N maiusculo... come NEVE!

Eu simplesmente AMO uma dia com neve!
As ruas branquinhas, aqueles flocos geladinhos caindo n meu rosto... fazer anjos na never, correr das guerras de bolas de neve...! Nao vejo a hora do meu menininho comecar a curtir tudo isso! :-)

Alem do mais, me diz, nao fica muito melhor do que uma vista branquinha do lado de fora e uma xicara de cha quentinho do lado de dentro ;-) Que tal?

Heidelberg

I am on a workshop in Heidelberg, and here IS cold! 

Not cold like Amsterdam last week, when we had a thin layer of snow, during one day, on the streets, but colder with a really *thick* layer of snow on the floor, and on the roofs too, that last for days... (before I arrive and still here)
It is so cold that when on the train station, at night, outside, I was afraid my feet were going to freeze down! And this because I am using thick thick socks and velvet boots with "warm" inside!

Anyway... despite the cold, today was a very bright sunny day... the city looks cute... I have galeria in front of my hotel, the room is amazing AND the workshop looks good!

But... I need to say something about MPI... I though Ilha do Fundão was in the middle of nowhere... well, it is an island (ilha) but MPI IS is the middle of nowhere.. so in the middle that only ONE bus goes until there... and with very specific times... and with no way out (unless you have car or call a cab) after 7pm! 

Comparing now... Ilha do Fundão is in the middle of the city!!! hahahahah (well... it is an University city... )

snow

It is a year that I live in Amsterdam now.... and I can tell you, this january is a lot different than the last one... And I like it!!!
Last January just rained all the time... it was cold and wet and windy... was horrible!!!! :-O
This one, is probably colder than last year BUT is not rainy! It has a lot less wind and lots of clear days!!!
The day before yesterday we even had a warm sun! (warm if you are in the sun but inside somewhere... hehehe)

Well... and the best! Yesterday I woke up and it was all white! Nice... as a proper winter should be! :-D (last year I only say snow in April.... )

If it keeps going like this... maybe during summer it will be hot more than only day, like last year :-P

A retrospect of the last month till now ;-)

Finally everything nos is setup... My presentation was fine... my room is a personal mess :-P , I am starting to sleep more regulary (or at least working on that ;-) ), the hot water on the shower is fixed (yeah I didn't tell but we had a problem and I was for one week taking cold shower... but after a week, yep, on monday, the water was fixed and we have hot nice shower ;-)) and we are starting to put up the Christmas Tree :-)

My room is a mess, but I don't have time to clean up because I have to do a presentation on thursday, this is tuesday ;-)

I am home ;-)
